Tristar Gym Lebanon – Rising Arab heavyweight Mark Tanios (3-0) obtained his “Mark” when he competed under the Desert Force banner out-striking the more experienced Mohammad Abdulkareem (7-5) and dismantling Elias Baaklini in the opening seconds of the first round. That being said, a lot of talks regarding the heavyweight division title started rumoring when Jarjis Danho (5-0) also made his promotional debut, coming in with 3 wins and adding a 4th also against the Egyptian Abdulkareem.
Almost a year has passed and we haven’t seen both of these fighters in the Desert Force cage. Last week, Danho added a 5th win to his undefeated record in a Finnish promotion, but this does not solve our problem.
Tanios has been out for almost 11 months and it seems like his coach is not content with the way Desert Force officials have been handling this situation.
Wissam Abi Nader:
“Our contract with Desert Force is very clear. Mark won the first 2 fights, and his third bout should be on the title. It seems that someone calculated wrong and right now, no heavyweight fighter in the promotion has 2 consecutive wins to possibly face our fighter.”
Desert Force 16 has one heavyweight bout and both fighters are not fully eligible challengers for a title. Does that mean Tanios will have to wait even more for Abu Shreekh or Nacheb to win?
“Desert Force are asking us to take a non-title fight, which is against the respected contract that we have agreed on. If we can’t reach a consensus, we can possibly him another fight in Europe for the time being, we need to keep him busy.”
Following Yousef’s latest outstanding performance, and given the fact that Mark and Yousef had previously met in a Kung Fu fight, I personally am very excited if this fight eventually happens.
