The Ultimate Fighting Championship will return to the Middle East with UFC Abu Dhabi (UFC Fight Night 39: Nogueira Vs Nelson). The event takes place April 11 at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi and ArabsMMA crew will be around to cover the event for the first time!
There’s a full slate of pre-fight events this week, and fans are invited to many of the usual activities. Fans in Abu Dhabi can attend all of the activities for free.
Tuesday 8th features open workouts/media scrum with headliners Nelson and Nogueira, along with the following fighters :
- Clay Guida – UFC featherweight
- Tatsuya Kawajiri – UFC featherweight
- John Howard – UFC welterweight
- Ryan LaFlare – UFC welterweight
- Ramsey Nijem – UFC lightweight
- Beneil Dariush – UFC lightweight
The event is free and open to the public and takes place at the Cornish, East Plaza, Gate 6
The workouts begin/end at 16:00 – 18:00 UAE local time:
18:00 – 18:15: Face-offs
18:15 – 19:00: Media scrums with fighters
19:00 – 20:00: Fan Q&A with UFC guest fighters: Alexander Gustafsson, Stefan Struve and Luke Barnatt
Thursday’s weigh-ins take place at Cornish East Plaza, Gate 6 Abu Dhabi at 16:00 local time. Doors open to the public three hours earlier:
