Firstly we will start with Mohamad Ghorabi. Ghorabi is a Lebanese fighter fighting out of the well-known Shogun gym. His background is Karate specifically Kyokushin Karate (full contact Karate)and Muay Thai, so a natural striker with heavy hands and legs as proven to us by his 5 K.Os/T.K.O against Dawansy, Ibraheem Al-Sawi, Dawansy in Desert Force Academy, Joshua Murtada and his entrance fight where he won it by a K.O with a kick to the liver. The exhibit below shows Ghorabi’s punching stats for all his fights except his entrance fight.

As mentioned above Ghorabi is an extremely strong striker who is not afraid to trade against his opponents, relying heavily on his punches. As the exhibit shows, in all 5 fights Ghorabi threw 63 punches, only 35 of those connected (made an impact and hit his opponent) while missing 28.
Ghorabi’s punching accuracy while standing was 55.6%. Since Ghorabi is known to be a stand up fighter I was shocked when looking at the ground stats. Ghorabi punched (elbowed) a total of 121 punches, 104 of those punches connected while missing 17 of those. Ghorabi’s ground punching accuracy is a shocking 86%, quite a few of those punches were off his back where he like to throw elbows on his opponent when they are in his guard, as seen in his fight against Joshuwa and Dawansy.. Overall, Ghorabi threw 184 punches, landed 139 of those with a punching accuracy of 75.5%, 66% of those punches came when he was on the ground, while 34% of those punches came standing.
These stats can also justify why BJJ background is important since your punching accuracy is extremely higher, in this case 31.6% higher, so for those that think that BJJ is not important in your training please look at the figures and think again. Next stat is the kicks.

Very nice article ,I think we should have more of these for us fan to get a better knowledge on the fighter we support ,good luck for ghorabi tonight
